construction
The town hall building consists of 3 floors and a small suggested turret in the middle. The town hall clock is located on this turret, the hands of which are covered with gold leaf. Below is the town hall stairs.
Todays use
When the district of Hoyerswerda was dissolved in 1996 and the city became a district, the New Town Hall was vacant. The city administration moved into this in the same year. Since then, only the mayor Stefan Skora, as well as the mayor for social affairs and the city's head of department have met in the old town hall. The atrium is used for exhibitions and the Ratskeller with a restaurant is located in the basement of the building.
