Adolph Theodor Thomsen (* 1814 - October 10, 1891 in Kiel ) was a German politician in the Duchy of Schleswig , a member of the Imperial Council of Copenhagen and a member of the Prussian House of Representatives .

Life

After an agricultural apprenticeship in Oldenswort, Thomsen managed the Steinbrennerhof there. From 1832 to 1837 he was the administrator of the Windebye estate. He then attended a veterinary school in Copenhagen. In 1841 he became a councilor at the Eiderstedter court and remained so until its dissolution. In 1855 he finally became a feudal man in Oldenswort.

In 1854 Thomsen was also elected a member of the Schleswig Estates Assembly as a member of the "smaller landowners" (corresponds to wealthy farmers / large landowners). From 1856 to 1858 he was also a member of the Danish Imperial Council . On February 16, 1864 Thomsen was appointed bailiff in Husum and Oberstaller in Eiderstedt . In 1865, however, he was deposed from these offices by the new Prussian administration. In 1867 he was elected to the Prussian House of Representatives, from which he withdrew in 1869. In all political offices Thomsen always fought for Germanism in the Duchy of Schleswig .

Thomsen had been married to Catharina Tönnies since 1838, with whom he had 14 children. The Admiral August von Thomsen was her son.
