Altvils are called sections of the old course of the Vils (Danube) ; downstream:

• Altvils (Rengersdorf) , with the upper course Kugelgraben , right tributary of the Vils near Rengersdorf, Markt Eichendorf , district of Dingolfing-Landau
• Altvils (Schönerting) , with the upper course Niederöder Graben , left tributary of the left branch of the Vils in Schönerting , town of Vilshofen on the Danube, district of Passau
