Amastris (daughter of Darius II)

Amastris (* before 423 BC) was a member of the Persian Achaemenid dynasty in the 4th century BC. She was the eldest daughter of the great king Dareios II and the Parysatis .

Amastris was born before her father took the Persian throne. She became the wife of the satrap Terituchmes , who fell in love with his beautiful half-sister Roxane and, in order to be free for her, intended to assassinate his royal wife. Before Terituchmes could start implementing his plans, he was killed at the instigation of the Persian royal couple.
