Amin H. Nasser

Amin H. Nasser ( Arabic أمين بن حسن الناصر, DMG Amīn b. Ḥasan an-Nāṣir ) is a Saudi entrepreneur and manager . He officiated since May 2015 as President and CEO of the state-owned oil company (CEO) Saudi Aramco . He was confirmed in these positions in September 2015.

Career

He attended King Fahd University for Petroleum and Minerals in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in petroleum and natural gas engineering in 1982. In 2002, Nasser completed a managerial course at Columbia University .

He began his career at Saudi Aramco in 1982 as an engineer in the oil production department and then worked in the drilling and reservoir management area. In 1997 Nasser became manager of the Ras Tanura production department. He later became head of the Northern Territories Production Department and the Offshore and Onshore Production Departments of the Safaniya Oil Field. In 2006, Nasser was named Vice President, Petroleum Technology and Development, before being promoted to Acting Head of Exploration and Production in August 2007. In January 2008, Nasser was named Vice President, Exploration and Production. He has been CEO of Saudi Aramco since May 2015.

Others

Nasser is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). Since 2008 he has been a member of the Industry Advisory Council, the SPE. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the King Abdullah University for Science and Technology (KAUST).
