The Amir Assaf Mosque or Amir Mansur Assaf Mosque ( Arabic جامع الأمير منصور عساف Jamiʿ al-Amīr Manṣūr ʿĀsif ) is a mosque in the center of the Lebanese capital Beirut .

history

The Amir Mansur Asif Mosque was built in 1580. It is located in the immediate vicinity of the al-Omari Mosque , the former St. John's Cathedral . In the Lebanese civil war the mosque as the entire center of Beirut was heavily damaged. The sacred building was renovated after the war.
