Amor de Perdição is a statue by the Portuguese artist Francisco Simões that was installed in Porto in 2012 .

Simões' work is located on the southwest corner of Largo Amor de Perdição, the square in front of the former Antiga Cadeia da Relação state prison , on the four-lane Campo dos Mártires da Pátria, within sight of the Palácio da Justiça , facing the Jardim de João Chagas.

The statue shows an older man, fully clothed, embracing a naked younger woman, who is standing in his mighty robe and in turn, on tiptoe and slightly stretched, embraces him. The woman looks at the man, but the man looks past her on the right.

The motif is based on the Portuguese novel of the same name by Camilo Castelo Branco from 1862, which was first published in German in 1988 ( The Destiny of Love ) and was filmed in 1921, 1943, 1979 and 2008. Branco and his lover Ana Plácido had become inmates of the prison a few years earlier because of their love affair, where Branco also wrote his prison memories.
