The Arabic-language magazine an-Nibrās ( Arabic النبراس, DMG an-Nibrās  'The Lantern') was published once a month in Beirut in 1909 and 1910 . The founder and editor was Sheikh Mustafa al-Ghalayini, a well-known Lebanese theologian, writer and reformer. In addition to scientific contributions and findings, an-Nibrās placed particular emphasis on cultural topics. The reader should not only be informed literarily and historically. For al-Ghalayini, expressions of criticism of politics and society played a major role. Religious topics were not in the foreground, but should also receive attention. Newspaper subscriptions were offered outside of Lebanon not only for Egypt , but also for America and India .
