An Introduction to Linear Drawing

An Introduction to Linear Drawing is considered the first documented book to teach art in American public schools. It was published in 1825 and is a translation and revision (while teaching at the Female Monitorial School) by William Bentley Fowle based on the original French work by M. Louis Francoeur .
