Ananda Matthew Everingham ( Lao : ອ ນ ນັດ າ ເອ ເວ ອຣິ່ງ ແຮນ , Thai : อ นั น ดา เอ เว อ ริ่ ง แฮม , born May 31, 1982 in Thailand ) is a Lao - Australian film actor and model .

life and work

Ananda Everingham is the eldest son of the Australian photojournalist John Everingham and his first wife, the Laotian Keo Sirisomphone. The dramatic family story that ultimately led to his birth was the subject of the television film Operation Comeback . Ananda spent most of his youth in Thailand, where he grew up with his brother Chester Jay. He also has a half-brother.

While helping out in his family's Indian restaurant, he was discovered at the age of 14 by Khun Mingkwan, the manager of Thailand's largest entertainment company, GMM Grammy , who eventually led him to film. After appearing in his debut film Anda Gub Fahsai , activities for music videos and photo shoots followed.

He gained international attention primarily as a performer who played Tun in the horror film Shutter . In the film, he played a photographer who was followed by a shadow due to failure to provide assistance and hit-and-run.
