Anawma Buddha

The Anawma Pagoda was a Buddhist stupa in Mrauk U , Myanmar . It was built in 1501 by Princess Anowzaw, the daughter of King Salingathu .

Only a 3 m high stone Buddha sitting on an altar has survived. The sculptures at the foot of the altar are remarkable; they represent scenes from the Jatakas .
