Angela Aki ( Japanese ア ン ジ ェ ラ ・ ア キ , Anjera Aki ; born September 15, 1977 in Itano as Kiyomi Aki ( 安 芸 聖 世 美 , Aki Kiyomi )) is a Japanese singer-songwriter .

Aki is the daughter of a Japanese and an Italian-American and grew up in Japan in Tokushima Prefecture until she was 15, after which she lived temporarily in Hawaii and later in Washington. Her musical education began at the age of three on the piano, followed by violin, guitar and drums.

On January 4, 2000, her first album These Words was released . In 2002 she wrote two songs for the Filipino singer Dianne Eclar . On March 9, 2005 her mini album One was released , which Nobuo Uematsu became aware of and brought her to the Sony Japan label .

Angela Aki was selected in 2005 for the theme song of the video game Final Fantasy XII , which was released on March 15, 2006 under the title Kiss Me Good-Bye . She also performed the song in a video game music concert in Chicago.
