Appendixá

The appendixá or appendix uera is a figure from the Tupí - Guarani - mythology of the Amazon region of Brazil . He defends the animals of the open corridor from the hunters' pursuits. The Annexá appears as a white stag with fiery eyes, whose gaze drives mad the hunters whom it stands in the way.

Other defenders of the nature of the Amazon are the caipora and the curupira .
