Almost nothing is known about the life of Anmchad (or even Amchad), not to be confused with Anmchad mac Con Cherca (died in the 760s) or with Anmchadh mac Eogan Buac (died around 757). He appears in the annals of Inisfallen , where he is referred to as "God's hermit".
