Anna Schlaffer

Anna Schlaffer (born January 26, 1953 in Raiding , née Mihalkovits) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and a qualified social worker. Schlaffer was a member of the Federal Council between 2000 and 2004 and a member of the Burgenland Landtag from 2004 to 2010 .

education and profession

Schlaffer was born as the daughter of the bricklayer Georg Mihalkovits from Raiding. She attended elementary school in Raiding and then switched to the Bundesrealgymnasium Oberpullendorf , where she graduated from high school in 1971. After that, Schlaffer graduated from the federal college for upscale social professions in Vienna, from which she graduated in 1973 with a diploma. Schlaffer worked between 1973 and 1995 at the youth welfare office of the Oberpullendorf district administration and was a local social worker. In 1995 she moved to the office of the Burgenland provincial government, where she was employed as a senior social worker and technical supervisor. In 1998 she was awarded the title of senior official.

politics

Schlaffer has been a member of Raiding's municipal council since 1982 and was elected vice mayor in 1992. Schlaffer held the office of vice mayor until 1997 and has been mayor of the community since 2002. Furthermore, Schlaffer has been deputy local party chairwoman of the SPÖ Raiding since 1986, since 1995 district women chairwoman of the SPÖ-Oberpullendorf and since 1995 district party chairwoman of the SPÖ Oberpullendorf.

From December 28, 2000 to June 23, 2004, Schlaffer represented the SPÖ and Burgenland in the Federal Council. She was sworn in as a member of the state parliament in Burgenland on June 24, 2004 and was area spokesperson for social affairs and hospice in the SPÖ state parliament club. Schlaffer did not stand in the state elections in Burgenland in 2010 and left the state parliament on June 24, 2010.

Private

Schlaffer is married and has two daughters.
