history
In 1656 the then sovereign Palatine Count Christian August had a small wooden chapel built. This was replaced by a stone building in 1676. Its expansion into a church began in 1787. In 1903, the nave was extended to create the baroque tower. In 1956 the baroque interior was created and the nave ceiling fresco Salve Regina (Mary crowned by angels over saints and King David) was painted, signed and dated by the Munich painter Josef Wittmann , painter of the Neo-Baroque. Four groups of singing angels, Anna Selbdritt in glory with angels playing music above the townscape. The design for this fresco has been preserved and is in the Diocesan Museum of Regensburg with his designs for church painting.

The ensemble on the Annaberg also includes the Loretto Chapel, the Lourdes Grotto, the Hermitage and the Way of the Cross.
Annabergfest
Every year at the end of July a mountain festival week is held, for which numerous believers and pilgrims come together.
