Anne Freaks is a manga series by the Japanese artist Yua Kotegawa . It describes the adventures of the young girl Anne who plans to finish off her father and his gang. To do this, she recruits the two teenagers Yuri and Mitsuba, who after a stroke of fate no longer have a family and therefore follow Anne.

Characters

Anne is a beautiful but extremely dangerous girl who plans to eliminate her father and his gang. This gang is the "Kakuseisha", a group that first started as a religious sect, but then became terrorists. To turn this plan into a reality, she eventually recruited teenagers Yuri Kitagawa and Mitsuba Maezono. Despite her youth, Anne is an extremely skilled fighter and walks over corpses for her goal. Unlike the other two, Anne has no qualms about murdering anyone; on the contrary, she even seems to enjoy it. She also manipulates her comrades-in-arms to get her way. The most noticeable feature is the lizard tattoo on her left upper arm.

Yuri Kitegawa is a shy young student and suffers greatly from his psychotic mother who puts him under constant pressure. In addition, she often goes at him with a knife or makes suicide attempts. Since his father left the family when Yuri was 6 years old, he is also sexually abused by his mother. However, after another suicide attempt, Yuri lets his mother bleed to death. Anne catches him burying her body and mistakenly believes he killed her, which is why she recruited him for her vengeance campaign. Anne helps him to make the body disappear and also kills a classmate who saw Yuri doing it and tries to blackmail him. In contrast to Anne, Yuri has a lot of scruples about hurting someone. He also feels haunted by his mother's ghost. However, since he has fallen in love with Anne, he follows her. He finally learns that his father also belongs to the "Kakuseisha" sect and is planning the terrorist attacks together with Anne's father.

Mitsuba Maezono seems to have met Anne before. This saves him from an attack by her father's gang. However, she cannot prevent Mitsuba's family from being wiped out. Mitsuba then starts a campaign of revenge, but he almost fails and is saved at the last second by Anne and Yuri. Having no more family, he joins Anne. In contrast to Yuri, Mitsuba has fewer scruples because he has already killed and was previously violent.

Moe: The young doctor used to work for the "Kakuseisha" too. He even made the bomb that was used in a devastating attack on Haneda Airport . After that, however, he got scruples. When the killing started in the sect, he fled with six-year-old Anne, which is why she has great confidence in him. He was temporarily staying with the Yakuza .

Kunita: The mysterious priest used to be a member of the "Kakuseisha" too, but lost his wife and child in the attack in Haneda, which is why he split from the group. He also tries to take revenge on the group, but does not want to use violence. He helps Anne and her friends.

Chief Commissioner Nishikama: Nishikama is the Chief Commissioner of the Public Safety Department. As such she tries above all to fight the "Kakuseisha". That's why she finally makes a deal with Anne, Yuri and Mitsuba.

Commissioner Shono: Shono is the head of the juvenile delinquency unit. She is brought into her team by Nishikama to catch Anne. However, the first encounter with Anne is traumatic for Shono, who barely escapes with her life. Shono suspects that Nishikama is up to something with the young people, so she wants to help them.
