Annekatrin Niebuhr

Annekatrin Niebuhr (born 1967 ) is a German economist . She is professor for labor market and regional research at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel and research assistant at the IAB Nord .

biography

Annekatrin Niebuhr studied economics at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel and at the University of Wales, Swansea , where she graduated in 1992. From 1993 to 1999 she was a research assistant at Kiel University and Dortmund University . In 1998 she received her doctorate from the University of Kiel .

From 1999 to 2004 Niebuhr was a project manager in the European Integration department of the Hamburg World Economic Archive (HWWA). Since December 2004 she has been a research assistant at the Institute for Employment Research in Kiel (IAB Nord) and since November 2009 Professor for Empirical Labor Market Research and Spatial Econometrics at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel.

From 2018 to the end of January 2019, Annekatrin Niebuhr was a voting member of the Commission for Growth, Structural Change and Employment ("Coal Commission") set up by the German Federal Government , which developed recommendations on phasing out coal and on structural change in the regions affected by it.
