Anna "Annie" Barbazza (born June 15, 1993 in Milan ) is an Italian prog rock singer .

Act

Barbazza first played drums in local rock groups during her piano training at the Conservatorio Nicolini in Piacenza, before switching to singing and acoustic guitar. In 2012 her voice was discovered by Greg Lake , who invited her to sing with him in Piacenza that same year (documented on his posthumous live album Live in Piacenza ). She started her solo career with her band Annie's Playlist . In addition, she brought Bernardo Lanzetti on as a background singer for his album Forty Years of Voice Impossible - Vox 40 Live .

Lake produced the album Moonchild together with Max Marchini , on which she can be heard as a singer instead of Lake. She also performed with John Greaves and sang on his albums Piacenza (2015) and Life Size (2017). They also played drums on the album White Zombie by Paul Roland . She also performed in a duo with Robyn Hitchcock . The Italian fusion band Area invited her to a concert in 2015 in which she performed Gioia e rivoluzione .

With Greaves she played a key role in the reinterpretation of Robert Wyatt's Rock Bottom by the North Sea Radio Orchestra , which was presented at the Rock in Opposition Festival in Lyon and at Cafe Oto in London in 2019 .
