Annulus (skin)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As annuluses (singular: annulus of lat. Annulus: Ring) refers to skin wrinkles, which run around the body completely or partially. The annuli create a curl, for example in the annelids and sneak amphibians . A distinction is made between primary, secondary and tertiary annuli in vertebrates . Primary annuli run over the vertebrae and their connective tissue plates ( myosepta ), secondary and tertiary annuli run between the myosepta.
