Equipping

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As Anrüsten is called the milking massaging the udder of cattle. The cows then release the hormone oxytocin . This causes the muscles in the alveolar walls to contract, pushing the milk out of the alveoli into the duct system and the cistern. This increases the internal pressure of the udder. If the equipment has not been adequately prepared, the milk flow may decrease shortly after the start of milking and blind milking may result.

It can be set up manually or by the milking machine. However, this only applies to domestic cattle. In the house yak , on the other hand, milk is only released by the calf. The calves first have to suckle for 30 to 50 seconds to get the milk flowing. In order to maintain it, the calf must be started two to three times during the eight to ten minute milking period so that the milk flow is maintained. Milking is accordingly much more labor-intensive than with domestic cattle. In addition to the milking person, a second person is necessary to lead the calf to the yak cow so that it can start again.
