Sea countries (including neighboring countries ) are all at a geographical object (land, mountains, other state) adjacent States ; For example, Germany is a country bordering the North Sea and the Baltic Sea in the north and the Alps in the south .

If a body of water, like a river or sea, forms the border or if a river flows through several states, the states are called states bordering the water body. For example, u. a. France a country bordering the Rhine ; Germany, Austria and Switzerland are countries bordering Lake Constance .

A subordinate term of the neighboring state is that of the neighboring state .
