Attack in Quetta in 2017

During the attack in Quetta in 2017 , terrorists from the Pakistani arm of the “ Islamic State ” (IS) attacked the Bethel Memorial Methodist Church on December 17, 2017 . At least eight people were killed and dozen injured.

Two suicide bombers attacked a well-attended church service. About 400 people were in the church. There was an exchange of fire with the attackers; one of the perpetrators was shot dead by security forces in the entrance area, the second set off his explosives vest .

Christian churches in Pakistan were already the target of Islamist attacks during the Christmas season before the attack. Quetta , in the Balochistan region in southwest Pakistan, was affected by two serious attacks by different organizations in 2016 .
