Clip-on transducer

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A clip-on extensometer belongs to the group of contact strain sensors (also called tactile extensometers). It is applied manually or automatically to the measurement sample. The measuring tip is fixed to the specimen by frictional forces or clamping forces .

The clip-on extensometer has at least two measuring tips or knife edges. If the sample expands, the distance between the two measuring blades changes and the change in elongation can be determined during a tensile test .
