Anti-Corruption Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan

The Anti-Corruption Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan (Azerbaijani: Azərbaycan Respublikasının Korrupsiyaya qarşı mübarizə üzrə Komissiyası ) is an Azerbaijani commission based in Baku and is an independent and impartial collegial body .

history

On March 3, 2004, the Anti-Corruption Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan was founded, which specializes in the fight against corruption. Its tasks and powers are specified in the Regulation on the Anti-Corruption Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which was issued on May 3, 2005.

Legal basis

The legal bases for the work of the commission are the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan , international treaties to which the Republic of Azerbaijan is a party, the acts belonging to the legislative system of the Azerbaijan Republic and the Regulation on the Anti-Corruption Commission.

The Commission's rules of procedure are determined by the head of the commission.

The commission consists of 15 members appointed by the President (5), Parliament (5) and the Constitutional Court (5).

The seat of the Anti-Corruption Commission is in Baku. The chairman of the commission is elected by the members of the commission with a simple majority. The chairman of the commission is currently Ramiz Mehdiyev. The committee meetings take place at least once every quarter.

Competencies

The Commission examines the state of the fight against corruption in Azerbaijan and presents reports to the President, Parliament and the Constitutional Court. It has a secretariat at its disposal that looks after the day-to-day business of the Commission. The secretariat reports directly to the chairman and assists him in the preparation and implementation of the meetings as well as in reporting.

The commission coordinates the cooperation of state and non-state institutions in the fight against corruption, collects and analyzes information on corruption incidents and submits proposals on corruption prevention to the relevant state bodies.
