Anton Hansmann

Anton Hansmann (* 1821 in Cologne ; † after 1870) was a German portrait and miniature painter.

Life

Hansmann's biography can only be reconstructed fragmentarily. From 1841 to 1850 he stayed in Paris as a student of Louis-Charles-Auguste Couder and Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres . He then went on a trip to Italy from 1850 to 1852, only to stay in Paris again from 1852 onwards. From 1854 at the latest, he received state and private contracts there. In 1860 he took part in the Berlin Academy Exhibition, in 1861 and the Paris Salon and in 1863 at the Salon des Refusés .
