Apoprotein

As apo ( gr. : Apo - from , Proton - the first ) is defined as that portion of a protein , the only amino acids exist. If the prosthetic group is added, you get a complete protein (Greek holos = whole; holoprotein ). In the case of a compound enzyme , the apoprotein is identical to the apoenzyme .
