Appeal to common sense

The appeal to common sense ( English Appeal to Common Sense ) is a fallacy. It assumes that a person's assumptions and conclusions reflect a well-known fact. The appeal to common sense is a special case of alleged certainty .

The appeal to common sense has the following logical form:

“Common sense tells you that X is true. That's why X is true. "
