The Aachener Arbeiter-Zeitung appeared from 1924 to 1933. It was published in Aachen as the daily newspaper of the Communist Party of Germany (KPD) for the Aachen administrative district . The title was initially Aachener Arbeiter-Zeitung (years 1924 and 1925), later Arbeiter-Zeitung (years 1926 to 1933).

As a daily newspaper, the newspaper documented the activities of the communists in the Aachen / Düren area during the Weimar Republic . After the seizure of power of Hitler, the newspaper was banned from 22 February 1,933th

The Aachener Arbeiter-Zeitung appeared as the headline of the Socialist Republic newspaper in Cologne. Only the local section was created by the editors in Aachen themselves.

The single price of the newspaper was 10 pfennigs. The newspaper could be subscribed to for half a month for one mark. The newspaper also financed itself through advertisements. There are advertisements from retailers from Aachen, Alsdorf, Haaren, Eschweiler and Stolberg. But also larger advertisements, e.g. B. Tobacco advertising of the Halpaus brand, the Ufa Palast Aachen and the Leonhard Tietz Aachen department store .

In 1927 the KPD city councilor Heinrich Begasse was responsible for the entire content of the newspaper, and Paul Charell for advertisements. The office of the Arbeiter-Zeitung was in 1927 in Aachen, Peterstrasse 111. In September 1928, Julius Klepper (1897–1960) , who had a doctorate in economics, was the editor in charge. In March 1929 Mathias Schneider (* 1900) was responsible for politics. In 1931 Hans Staß from Aachen was responsible for the content of the newspaper. At that time the editorial office was in Aachen, Stiftstrasse 21. The last editor of the Arbeiter-Zeitung was Arthur May (1902–1933), the political leader of the Aachen KPD. He was murdered by the National Socialists on June 22, 1933.

The newspaper was published in 1927 by Aachener Zeitungs- und Bücherverlags GmbH, Peterstraße 111. The newspaper was printed by “Peuvag” (paper production and recycling company) Berlin, branch: Cologne, Aquinostraße 11. In 1931, it was printed and published from Colonia-Verlag GmbH Cologne, Aquinostraße 11.
