from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The ADS-Grenzfriedensbund is a social work organized under the law of associations, which advocates for cultural and socio-political issues of the ethnic groups close to the border in southern Schleswig. It emerged from the merger of two border associations, the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Deutsches Schleswig (ADS) and the Grenzfriedensbund . The office is in Flensburg .

history

The ADS-Grenzfriedensbund was created in 2008 from the merger of two border associations. This became necessary after the state of Schleswig-Holstein canceled the grants of the Grenzfriedensbund eV association in 2008. Both associations came into being in the post-war period of World War II.

Fields of action

As a border association, the ADS-Grenzfriedensbund is active in researching (potentially conflicting) socio-political issues along the German-Danish border. He tries to bridge the cultural differences between the two minorities north and south of the border with the attitudes of the majority of the population.

The structuring of the cultural work of the local population is another task. This also includes moderating activities between the individual groups. The aim is to help find a common regional identity. In an increasingly global economic system, this is of great importance for the peaceful coexistence of culturally diverse groups.

Facilities

The ADS-Grenzfriedensbund currently works in almost 50 social and socio-educational institutions. In addition, he is the direct sponsor of various aid organizations. These include:

  • 28 kindergartens
  • two supervised primary schools and after-school care
  • six school camps
  • two youth clubs

In addition, he is a partner in various social institutions, such as the Mürwiker workshops and the outpatient care center north (APN) . He is also involved in the social station in the Hürup district .
