Working group of German family organizations

The Working Group of German Family Organizations (AGF) e. V. is an amalgamation of the five major family policy associations at the federal level: the German Family Association , the Protestant Arbeitsgemeinschaft familie , the Family Association of Catholics , the Association of Single Mothers and Fathers and the Association of Binational Families and Partnerships .

The working group is recognized as a non-profit , registered association and promotes the dialogue between associations, organizations, interest groups and politics in the field of family policy, especially at the federal level, but also in the international area. It organizes conferences, expert discussions on current family policy issues, supports and initiates opinion-forming processes relevant to family policy. The AGF is the German member of the Confederation of Family Organizations in the European Union (COFACE), an association of over 50 family policy organizations from more than 20 EU countries.

history

The working group was founded in March 1954, following the establishment of the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs in October 1953. Initially, the Family Association of Catholics, the Evangelical Action Group for Family Issues and the German Family Association were united in the working group, and the 1960s came to a close Association of single mothers and fathers added as a member. In 2008 the Association of Binational Families and Partnerships became a member of the AGF.

The headquarters were first in Königswinter, then in Bonn and since 2004 it has been in Berlin.
