The Association for Legal Library and Documentation (AjBD) is the German-speaking section of the International Association of Law Libraries . It is an association of special legal and academic universal libraries , documentation centers and other legal institutions from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Personal memberships are also possible. There are currently around 200 largely institutional members. It is not a registered association. The seat is in Munich (formerly: Erfurt). It was founded in 1971.

aims

The AjBD promotes the legal library and documentation system and does this by offering further training and discussion events for legal librarians , through statements on library law and legal librarianship topics as well as through the publication of specialist articles in the series of worksheets of the AjBD and in the journal Law, Library, Documentation - RBD , which is usually published three times a year.

collaboration

The AjBD works together with numerous library organizations. The contact to the Working Group of Parliament and Authority Libraries (APBB) is particularly close.

membership

In particular, academic universal and legal special libraries, documentation centers and institutions can become members. These institutions appoint one or more representatives when they join. The AjBD can be used as individual members librarians and information specialists to join working in the legal and Documentation or were. The membership fee is currently 30 € per year. As part of the membership, each member receives a copy of the magazine RBD .
