The Arber Radmarathon is a German bicycle marathon in the disciplines of road and MTB. The cycling marathon is held annually in Regensburg, usually on the last weekend in July. It is organized and organized by the Veloclub Ratisbona cycling club . The cycling marathon first took place in July 1984 as an internal club event. Barbara Wilfurth is the president of the organizing committee and the association . Today's Arber Cycle Marathon is a two-day event divided into Saturday and Sunday: In addition to the cycle marathon on Sunday, there is a road bike race called the “Weltenburg Dark Cycle Criterion”, which is carried out as a criterion . The event was born on July 28, 1985. On this day, the first Arber bike marathon took place with 90 participants. Members of the Ratisbona Veloclub organized the marathon after being inspired to do the Arber in a training trip from Regensburg. In the years that followed, the cycling marathon became a permanent fixture in the Regensburg sports scene.
