The Arcetri Observatory (Italian: Osservatorio Astrofisico di Arcetri ) (IAU code 030) is an astronomical observatory in Arcetri on the outskirts of Florence in Italy .
Theoretical and observational astronomy as well as the design and construction of astronomical instruments are carried out at the observatory . The observatory was heavily involved in the following projects:
- Multiple / Magnum Mirror Telescope , 6.5 m telescope
- LBT , 2 × 8.4 m telescope
- Telescopio Nazionale Galileo , 3.5 m telescope
- adaptive secondary mirror for one of the telescopes of the VLT
- Gornergrat Infrared Telescope , 1.5 m (TIRGO)
