Archive of the story told

The archive of the narrated story is a project and multimedia archive of the German minority in Poland , realized by the House of German-Polish Cooperation . The project collects stories from and about Silesia in the form of sound recordings and video recordings, as well as photographs and texts, in order to archive them and make them accessible to the public via an internet platform.

Young people between the ages of 16 and 25 are employed for the collection and interview contemporary witnesses in the region. The interviewers receive a two-day training course and are supervised by scientific staff. The interviews are carried out in seasons. The eighth edition will be produced in 2016.

The selection of topics includes in particular the pre-war period in Silesia, the Second World War, the People's Republic of Poland, religious life, customs, traditions and celebrations as well as the activities of the German minority.

The project is supported by the German Federal Ministry of the Interior.
