The Argus computers were built between 1960 and 1995 and some of them are still in operation today. The Argus computers were built with the designation Argus 100, Argus 200 etc. up to the Argus 700. The best-known model is undoubtedly the Argus 700, which was installed as a multiprocessor system at the end of the 1970s. The OSC245 operating system of the Argus computers supports multiuser , multitasking and multiprocessor properties.

Argus 700

Argus 700 process computers have been continuously developed. Starting with the E / T types in TTL technology, the ARGUS 700S in ECL technology went on to the G / GC type. The latter already supported the use of CPU caches. With the GL, GX and two GZ types of different speeds, ever faster processors appeared in the course of the 1980s and early 1990s. Not to be forgotten is another representative of the ARGUS 700 series, designed for the VME bus, the ARGUS 700GV. More than 1500 systems of the Argus 700 have been installed worldwide.
