Arne Skjærpe

Arne Skjærpe is a former Norwegian brigadier general and manager .

The trained artilleryman Skjærpe attended the “Gerhard Shoning” school from 1974 to 1977. From 1979 to 1982 he graduated from the Norwegian Military Academy Krigsskolen in Oslo . From 1993 to 1995 he took part as a major in the 36th General Staff Course (H) at the Management Academy of the Federal Armed Forces (FüAkBw) in Hamburg, for which he was awarded the General Heusinger Prize in 1995 as the best of his year . He was later awarded the Federal Cross of Merit and the Legion of Merit . During his 27 years of service, Skjærpe worked a. a. on the staff of the Norwegian Army and in the Norwegian Ministry of Defense in Oslo. It was also used with the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida. From 2000 to 2003 he was his country's defense attaché in the Federal Republic of Germany.

Since his retirement in 2009 he has been working in the private sector. In 2009/10 he was Vice President of the Professional Staffing Group. In 2010/11 he was Business Development Manager at the Cybrix Group. From 2011 to 2013 he worked for Yara North America. In 2013/14 he became Head of Security for Yara International ASA. Since 2014 he has been General Manager at Prox Dynamics USA.
