history

The screw factory L. & C. Arnold in Ernsbach , founded in 1898 by Louis and Carl Arnold on the site of older mills, began with the production of wood screws for the own use of the iron furniture factory Arnold in Schorndorf . In 1913 the screw factory moved to what is today the site in Ernsbach and became the largest industrial company in the Kochertal . Reconstruction took place after 1945. The production facilities were expanded and the product range was expanded to include tapping screws and tapping screws. The company headquarters in Ernsbach was incorporated into Forchtenberg in 1972. Werner Berger, grandson of the company's founder and head of the company from 1949, became an honorary citizen of Forchtenberg in 1978.

A change began in the 1970s. Simple parts were replaced by technologically valuable products. The production of self-tapping screws was started. Licenses for Taptite, DUO-Taptite, Remform and Torx were acquired, multi-stage presses for the production of complex drawing parts were acquired, and the company was modernized.

Due to a change of ownership within the L. & C. Arnold company association, the screw factory became an independent company of the Würth Group under the name Arnold Umformtechnik in 1994. Major investments in machinery, hardening and electroplating were the result.

Independent companies in China, France and the USA as well as sales offices in India, Austria, Poland, Spain and the Czech Republic were set up.

Today the Arnold Group produces 7.13 billion parts annually (as of 2017). The company is certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001 , ISO / TS 16949 and ISO 50001.

In 2017 Arnold repositioned under the slogan “BlueFastening Systems”. As a result of the merger of the Fastener competence, which was previously developed separately at Arnold Umformtechnik, with the system competence built up at the subsidiary Arnold & Shinjo since 1994, the core competencies have been reorganized.
