Asbury Theological Seminary is a theological college in multidenominationale Wesleyan tradition based in Wilmore ( Kentucky ). Another campus is in Orlando ( Florida ).
history
Asbury Theological Seminary was founded in Wilmore in 1923 by its first President, Henry Clay Morrison . Morrison was also President of Asbury College at the time . In 1940, Asbury Seminary separated from the college to better meet accreditation requirements. Because of the proximity of the two schools (which are on opposite sides of the same street), as well as the similar name and common theological tradition, many people confuse the two institutions. They are independent bodies.
