Azerbaijani naming
The naming in the Asian state of Azerbaijan is based on the traffic light principle . Some allowed or desired names have a green light , forbidden names such as Soviet or Kombain have a red light . Names belong to the yellow light when one parent is a foreigner.
Surname
The surname is regulated by the common name of the married parents. If the parents do not share a name, the newborn child is given the last name of one of the parents.
