Aska Yang ( Chinese  楊宗 緯  /  杨宗 纬 , Pinyin Yáng Zōngwěi ) (born April 4, 1978 ) is a Taiwanese singer and member of the Star Millions Gang (星光 幫).

Life & Education

Aska Yang was born on April 4, 1978 in Taoyuan, Taiwan. He is a Taiwanese pop singer and a member of the "Million Star Gang" Aska Yang is ranked 2nd on Yahoo! - Taiwan Person 2007, ranked 2nd on United Daily Star News 2007, 1st on Apple Daily Person 2007, and voted one of Sinanet's Top Five Newbies 2007. Aska Yang performed on the stage at the 42nd Golden Bell Awards at the Taipei Sun Yat-sen Memorial. He sang eleven classic TV drama theme songs dating from the past century. He completed his studies with a focus on advice and guidance. While studying at the National Changhua University of Education (NCUE), he participated in many singing competitions and won several prizes. He is now studying for a Masters Degree in Sports Psychology from National Taiwan Sports University, NTSU.

Musical career

In the beginning, Aska Yang burst into fame in Taiwan by becoming the most popular contestant on the TV show "One Million Star" (Season 1). TV Show "One Million Star" is a top-rated TV singing competition program in Taiwan. He sang many popular songs in the singing contest such as "Auf mein Liebe Wiedersehen", "Die Geisel", "Der Verrat", "Neue Endlose Liebe" and so on. Video clips of his live performance gained hundreds of thousands of clicks because they were posted on YouTube. However, by the time he emerged as one of the six finalists in the competition, the media had uncovered much of his personal information and made guesses about his real age. In public, he admitted that he had faked his age. In the end, he finished the competition.

Still, the last ten candidates, including Aska Yang, had released two compilation albums, namely “Stern Class Reunion” and “Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow” in June and October. He took a total of four tracks in both albums: "Because I believe" --- He sang together with other participants. "Die Geisel", - originally singer: Huimei, Zhang "Der Verrat" - originally singer: Gary Cao "Superfluity" A theme song from the movie "Keep Watching" and it is the first original song by Aska Yang. Later that same year, 2007, he became embroiled in a tense contract negotiation with his manager, Hsu An-Kinn.

Due to press attention, his name was featured frequently in amusement news headlines in a sensational way throughout 2007. For example, he was ranked second in Yahoo! 's "Person of the Year". in Taiwan and was also listed in a book as Who's Who in the Republic of China, 2007-2008.

2008 The first solo album & concert

After reaching an agreement with his manager at the end of 2007, they signed a new contract. His musical career will officially begin. He released his first solo album entitled "Taube" in January 2008, which is selling well. Hit songs from this album are "The Onion", "The Pigeons", "The Joyful Wind", "Lassen" and "Wish for Love". Its fan base had expanded to other regions such as Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong. Just four months after the first album was released, Aska also played his first solo concert at Taipei Arena in May. But after the solo concert he was embroiled in conflict with his manager again. The argument resulted in a sudden pause in his career. In October 2008 Aska Yang officially announced his contract.

The new beginning in 2009

While he is trying to solve the outstanding contractual problems, Aska started his musical career again in the spring of 2009. He held a mini-concert in Taipei on January 11th and also began attending other events, such as TV shows, concerts, and musical dramas. Outside the business of amusement, he is continuing his master's degree in sports psychology at National Taiwan Sports University.

Charity activities

Voice of Taipei (Hit FM) invited 100 celebrities for a charity activity. Aska Yang offered his hand-painted hand-painted cap for internet tenders. Yang's fans, through co-funding, won the final bid of NT $ 200,000. The money was donated to the Home and Housing Association for the Chinese Children. Afterwards, his fans wore the cap to the Taipei Women Rescue Foundation (TWRF) in the 20th anniversary of the General Appreciation reception to an auction took place. Former TWRF chairman, Attorney Ying-Chi Liao, won the final bid of NT $ 300,000 and gave her this monumental net cap back to Yang. Aska then Yang contributed the cap to Changhua National University of Education for the collection. With the help of Aska Yang and his fans, TWRF received NT $ 1,290,136 on the anniversary day in receiving prayer of thanks.
