Associação Nacional para o Software Livre

The Associação Nacional para o Software Livre ( ANSOL , German "National Association for Free Software") is a Portuguese non-profit association for the promotion, development and legal defense of free software and the research of its effects in socio-political, philosophical and technical terms. She is a Portuguese member of the Free Software Foundation Europe . Among other things, it acts as a public mouthpiece for the viewpoints of the free software scene in political and social debates. Concrete examples of further activities are the Escolas Livres (German "Free Schools") project, which promotes the use of free software in schools, and participation in Software Freedom Day with an event.

The ANSOL and was founded on October 12, 2001 in Porto at the Porto, Technological City event .
