Astronomer Royal for Scotland

Astronomer Royal for Scotland was originally the title of Director of the Royal Observatory Edinburgh and went hand in hand with the Regius Professorship in Astronomy at the University of Edinburgh . Since 1995 it has only been an honorary title . It is not to be confused with the Astronomer Royal .
