Asus Zenbook 3 is a subnotebook series from the Taiwanese company Asus , which was officially presented for the first time at Computex 2016 in Taipei. Depending on the variant, the Windows 10 or Windows 10 Pro operating system is preinstalled on the notebooks . In addition, Asus also has a 14-inch, slightly higher-quality notebook called Asus Zenbook 3 Deluxe in its range.

UX390UA
The first notebook in the Zenbook 3 series is the Zenbook 3 UX390UA. It has a 12.5-inch display based on IPS technology with a resolution of Full HD (1920 × 1080 pixels). Depending on the variant, the processor used is the Intel Core i5 7200U or the Intel Core i7 7500U, which is air-cooled despite the thin housing. This is supported by 16 gigabytes of LPDDR 3 RAM (2133 MHz) and 512 gigabytes of SSD storage. The graphics card , the Intel HD Graphics 620, is also integrated in the notebook's SoC .
The notebook is the only optical connector with a USB Type C connector and a 3.5 mm jack socket. The device can be charged, files can be exchanged and other devices can be charged via the USB Type-C connection. A monitor can also be connected here.
Windows 10 and Windows 10 Pro from Microsoft are used on the Asus Zenbook 3 UX390UA . Typical functions of this operating system such as Cortana or Windows Hello (fingerprint sensor) are supported.
UX490UA
The second notebook in the Zenbook 3 series is the Asus Zenbook 3 Deluxe (UX490UA). This was officially unveiled at CES 2017.
In contrast to the UX390UA, it has a 14-inch IPS Full HD display and up to 1 terabyte of storage . In addition, there are now three USB Type-C ports (two of which support Thunderbolt 3 ) and a variant with only eight gigabytes of RAM . The weight of the notebook is 1.1 kg. Microsoft Windows 10 Pro is preinstalled as the operating system on the Asus Zenbook 3 Deluxe UX490UA by default.
According to the manufacturer, the Zenbook 3 Deluxe should be able to offer 9 hours of battery life.
Asus has been selling the UX490UA with the new 8th generation Intel Core i5 / i7 processors since the beginning of 2018.
