The Atlas BKK was a Bremer health insurance . The new health insurance company Atlas BKK Ahlmann was created through the merger with BKK Ahlmann on January 1, 2010 .

structure

At the time of the merger, Atlas BKK had 50 employees who looked after around 30,000 insured persons. The main administration in Bremen was the only branch.

history

The roots of Atlas BKK go back to 1912. On December 1st, the “Atlas-Werke company health insurance fund” began its work in Bremen. When it was founded, the fund had 800 members, and contributions amounted to 4–19 pfennigs a day. The workers had to pay two thirds of the contributions.

Atlas BKK was closely connected to the economy in and around Bremen. This was also due to various merger processes in which the Atlas-Werke from the Stinnes oHG group of companies (settlement application dated October 15, 1963) were merged into other companies: KRUPP took over Atlas Elektronik GmbH in Bremen-Sebaldsbrück, and Spinnbau GmbH in Bremen - Farge , the MaK Maschinenbau in Kiel. Krupp sold these holdings in the course of an interest group and the companies went into the group of Bremer Vulkan AG (bankruptcy on May 1, 1996). Until April 2003 the Atlas BKK was still called BKK STN Atlas Elektronik .
