Atlaua

Atlaua or Atlahua , ( Nahuatl : lord of water) was the god of water (atl) in the Aztec world of gods . He was considered the protector of fishermen and archers, as his name is also associated with the spear thrower atlatl . The mythological meaning of Atlaua seems to overlap to a large extent with the Opochtlis and Amimitls (water arrow ). The picture on the right comes from the Rig Veda Americano , the contents of which are taken from the Historia general de las cosas de la Nueva España by Bernardino de Sahagún . Details about the special mythology of Atlaua are not known.
