The Auer Ried nature reserve is located in the municipality of Au in Vorarlberg , Austria . It includes individual small groups of trees, individual trees, wet and dry rough meadows.

The purpose of the nature reserve is the protection of endangered wild native plant and animal species and their natural habitats as well as the preservation of the centuries-old cultivated land.

Legal basis

The nature reserve Auer Ried was designated as such in 1993 with a simple state law in accordance with the ordinance of the Vorarlberg state government on the nature reserve "Auer Ried" in Au. The basis for the protection was §§ 5 and 14 of the Vorarlberg Nature Conservation Act

Topography, purpose and scope of protection

The Auer Ried nature reserve has existed as a nature reserve since 1993. It is located on the western edge of the municipal area from Au to the municipality of Mellau and has a total area of ​​around 90 hectares.
