Postponement

In a deferment (ger .: reverse fault ) is a tectonic fault , in which the layers in the hanging wall to the top to be moved. This usually happens with an angle of incidence of 60 to 90 ° relative to the horizontal. Dislocations are typical for compression areas such as those caused by deformation or compression during mountain formation . Thrust faults with a shallower angle of incidence below 45 ° are called thrust faults.

Postponement can result in a pod in the area .
