Promoted (volleyball)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the sports game volleyball, a climber is the name for a rapid attack in which the player plays the ball into the attacker's stroke, so the ball is still hit in its ascent phase. Due to the high speed of this attack variant, the opposing central blocker is forced to jump off in front of the attacker, so that the player has the opportunity to play the ball outwards if the blocker jumps too.

In the case of the promoted player, the attacker jumps very close to the player, so with the normal runner system - in which the player is between positions 2 and 3 - he is mainly played from positions 2 or 3.
