Aughinish ( Irish Eachinis , "horse island") is a 1.568 km² island and townland in Galway Bay in northern County Clare , Ireland . The island came despite the (very narrow) connecting the dam to Doorus Peninsula (Irish: Duros) in County Galway not to County Galway.
